It has been shared that this program takes the theme
"Awakening of Women to Reduce the Gender Inequality Index; Comparison
Between Indonesia and Iran. ”The starting point for taking this theme is the
central role of women for the lives of the two nations to make fundamental
changes to people's lives. Indonesia, like Iran, is now in a massive
transformation towards a better, noble, civilized order in the midst of the
social relations of nations. In the midst of the transformation process, women
have a very extraordinary role to fill various sectors of life, both domestic
and public. Now, in both countries, opportunities are opened for women to fill
any public sector, to become members of parliament, scientists, artists,
athletes, pilots, doctors, and others.
The Qur'an itself has a very visionary perspective on the position
of this woman as said:
ولا تتمنوا ما فضل الله به بعضكم على بعض
للرجال نصيب مما اكتسبوا وللنساء نصيب مما اكتسبن واسألوا الله من فضله إن الله كان
بكل شيء عليما
It means: “And do not wish for that by which Allah has made some
of you exceed others. For men is a share of what they have earned, and for
women is a share of what they have earned. And ask Allah of his bounty. Indeed
Allah is ever, of all things, Knowing.” (Quran, an-Nisa [4]: 32)
The parts of what is sought — both for men and women — according
to the provisions and instructions of God so that someone has the right to get
honor thanks to the power of struggle, perseverance and vision of life that
seeks to be realized through concrete work steps .
Comparing Indonesia and Iran with regard to the Human Development
Index (HDI) and the Gender Inequality Index (GII), based on data from UNDP,
Iran is actually better than other Muslim countries such as Pakistan and
Bangladesh. As for HDI, Indonesia itself is in a medium position. The full
description will later be submitted by Ms. Dina Y. Sulaeman. By making the
family in the domestic domain the most important role in the development of
religion, nation and state, with a theocracy system, Iran has succeeded in grounding
the Islamic world view which gives a very wide development space for the role
of women in the public sector. This is my speech, thank you.
